Our Wines

A palette of federated characters under the sign of K

The Valley of Kientzheim-Kaysersberg is a place where exceptional microclimate, geological rarities and emblematic grape varieties harmonize. It is there, in the heart of Alsace, 15 minutes from Colmar, that this unique terroir delivers wines of typicities and terroirs with a strong personality! The protection of the Vosges offers to the valley a natural rampart which allows the vine to thrive on hillsides facing mainly South, South-East. Cold, dry winters contrast with hot, sunny summers, a duality that forges elegant, expressive and rich wines.

Alsace, land of vines

Every year, thousands of tourists criss-cross its paths and roads: Alsace and its wide range of landscapes offer an incomparable wealth of soils. This region, which benefits from a dry and sunny climate, also possesses a complex geology born from the separation of the Vosges and the Black Forest. Its vines are ideally exposed, often on hillsides, facing south.

Its geographical location also tells a story: that of a culture brought from the beginning of our era by the Romans, then revived by the Merovingians and the Carolingians who consumed this "tonic and cheerful" wine. Alsatian viticulture reached its peak during the 16th century. This period of prosperity was brutally interrupted by the Thirty Years' War which left the region open to plunder, plagues and the decline of the population and all commercial activities.

The Alsatian vineyard is truly reborn after the First World War when the winegrowers commit themselves to a policy of quality by choosing to produce wines made from typical grape varieties. As early as 1945, this policy is extended by the delimitation of the areas of the vineyards and the setting of strict rules of production and winemaking. Finally, it is crowned by the recognition of the Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée Alsace in 1962, Alsace Grand Cru in 1975 and Crémant d'Alsace in 1976. Today, Alsace has 51 Grands Crus that make the region radiate outside its borders, as well as numerous Crémants that contribute to its effervescence.
